Paul Armistead, MD, PhD

Paul Armistead, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Armistead was a Morehead Scholar at UNC, where he subsequently earned his MD, PhD. Dr. Armistead earned his PhD in Chemistry in the laboratory of Dr. Holden Thorp, former Chancellor of UNC, Provost of Washington University of St. Louis and current Editor-in-Chief of Science. He performed his Internal Medicine Residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and his Hematology / Oncology Fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Molldrem. Dr. Armistead is the Associate Chief of Hematology – Basic and Translational Research and the Medical Director of the UNC Advanced Cellular Therapeutics (GMP) Facility.
