Reports to: Chief Business Officer (CBO)


This newly created role of Corporate Sales Manager (CSM) is for a self-starter, motivated by success, with experience in the oncology biomarker and diagnostics space, primarily responsible for identification and generation of new business with biotech and pharmaceutical companies developing novel therapeutics.  The CSM will sell the GeneCentric portfolio of specialty oncology assays and predictive response signature development services to biotech and pharmaceutical company clients in N. America, Europe and Asia.  By building the annual sales plan based on prioritized potential customers and sales opportunities, the CSM will convert high priority clients into sales/contracts; initiate, develop and grow relationship with key companies; and identify growth strategy opportunities for specialty oncology therapeutic diagnostics.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Prepare and execute the annual sales plan in consultation GeneCentric leadership,
  • Plan and execute a robust lead generation for obtaining first time, new potential client meetings;
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports and forecasts;
  • Maintain effective communication with prospective and current client companies through regular travel, convention attendance, customer visits and third-party influential contacts;
  • Facilitate and support data and sample logistics between clients and GeneCentric or GeneCentric’s laboratory partners; strive to reduce turn-around-time to exceed customer’s expectations;
  • Build the GeneCentric brand through:
    • Delivery of high-quality presentations and maintain ongoing customer communication regarding our capabilities;
    • Development of strategic marketing plans and marketing materials;
    • Lead GeneCentric’s presence at, participate in, and organize meetings around major scientific and drug development conferences;
  • Disseminate and report information regarding developments in the marketplace and competitive information; monitor competitor activity and competitors’ products;
  • As the business grows, build a team; hire sales executives; manage and support team in order to execute GeneCentric corporate strategies and fulfill business objectives;
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science required, with advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of oncology diagnostics sales and account management experience with a proven track record of success
  • Existing relationships in the oncology drug development marketplace
  • Experience with oncology healthcare diagnostics providers, products, methods, and reimbursement
  • Proven record of success in small fast paced organizations with minimum supervision
  • Proven ability to multi-task and to interact effectively with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior oral and written communication skills; advanced computer presentation skills
  • Ability to travel two weeks per calendar month within the USA and Canada
  • Must be willing to report in person to the corporate office location in Research Triangle Park when requested; ideally candidate can be located in the Research Triangle Park area
